Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about celebrating with us on October 31st? We've prepared answers to some typical inquiries. More details will be added as we finalize scheduling.
When should I submit my RSVP?
Please submit your online RSVP using this link by September 30, 2026.
Are children welcome to attend?
Absolutely! Babies and children of all ages are more than welcome at our wedding. We also know that it's Halloween, so we encourage them to dress up in costume if they want!
Can I bring a guest or a plus one?
Sure! You can indicate a +1 when submitting your RSVP.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
No problem! You'll be able to indicate any dietary restriction when you make your RSVP. Just let us know.
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
We do not have any official hotel blocks, but Chicago is filled with incredible, world-class hotels that can suit all price ranges. You can find a list of a few of our recommendations on the Accommodations page.
Is there parking available near Chief O'Neill's?
While Chief O'Neill's is surrounded by street parking, it can be extremely limited. There is no parking lot at Chief O'Neill's. We strongly recommend carpooling, rideshare services like Uber or Lyft, public transit, or any other form of transportation.
What will the weather be like in Chicago?
Who knows! Please be aware that late October in Chicago can be very unpredictable. It might be 72°F (22°C) and sunny, or it might snow. Weather permitting, our celebration will involve indoor and outdoor portions, and if necessary, the back garden will be tented and warmed with heaters. If we need to move the whole thing inside, we will!
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We are hosting an unplugged ceremony. We strongly request that everyone silences and puts away their phones and cameras during it, and simply enjoys these memorable moments fully in-person with us. Our incredible photographer Adam (@adamnovakweddings) and his wonderful team will be there capturing every detail.
What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?
Around 11pm, Chief O'Neill's will need to start closing up the back room where the reception will take place, and our DJ will wrap up, too. After that, we'll be migrating to the main bar in front, where the party will continue, we'll have live traditional Irish music, and you can keep dancing the night away — no second location needed!
Will Kara be changing her last name?
She will, yeah.
